Indira Gandhi Mahila Mahavidyalaya

The college was established in 1984 by a group of socially oriented people with the intention to promote women’s education in the tribal-dominated, educationally backward areas of the Kaptipada sub-division in the district of Mayurbhanj. This noble initiative aimed to spread the message of empowerment through education among women in the Kaptipada sub-division. Despite a shaky start with no land or funds of its own, a College Committee comprising active and enthusiastic individuals of status in the locality was entrusted with the task of raising funds and meeting other necessary requirements for starting the college. Committee

The committees are hereby constituted to streamline college administration. All decisions of a committee in promotion of its basic objectives and goals should be taken preferably by consensus or agreement. The consensus decision fosters team spirit and unity of purpose. Two-thirds of the total members are required to be present to make such decisions valid. Two-thirds of the members of the committee will constitute the quorum for a meeting. Every committee will enjoy functional autonomy required for the attainment of its objectives but will remain accountable to the Principal. The committee will function effectively from 07.12.2022 (Wednesday).
